Your desires grow as you grow in life. Like Kid/Child like to play all the time, an old age person like to play, involve and like to be cared.
Like Kids does not like over- burden, old age person usually avoid burden. Considering the age factor, burden during old age is little difficult task still little burden keep us fit, physically and mentally. Moreover, this is place where our most of seniors lacks and require training.
You have been cared during childhood; you need care during old age.
Our Old age is our last stage of life. Most of us are suffering with some sort of illness or disease during old age.
You need to psychologically strong during old age, as somehow your physics does not support during old age.
Difficult psychological aspect during old age is to accept that Life countdown has begun and we should be ready for it and plan things accordingly.
Life becomes more difficult when you are suffering from disease or illness that stop your movements or you are not interactive and sometimes lack sense.
Most of human beings find it difficult to engage themselves in the absence of their favorite activities. Especially Kids/Children/Old Age/Retiree Person find difficult to engage themselves in activities they are not comfortable.
Many people feels Old age is for Leisure and Relaxation, however this is not true. During Old age our key responsibility is to manage ourselves physically. For many of us Old age is full of loneliness and depression, as we do not find company to spend time. Things become more worsen in the absence of desired company. So the problem is not to be retired from work, problem is how to fill our free time.
Let us discuss easy ways to make our old age more cheerful and enjoyable:
- ENGAGE WITH KIDS: You must keep yourself engage in small-2 activities like Playing with Children, teaching them, helping them, telling them stories etc. Teaching young kids is one of the best way to spend Old age time and keep your brain engage and healthy. Be a mentor for kids in your circle. You may find so many NGO’s in your areas that provide support for mentoring kids.
- BE SOCIAL: Engage yourself in Social activities, as Retired life is best time to do social services like helping society, helping needy people etc.
- PLANTATIONS: Plantation is one of best activity for Retired person. If you like Plantation, you can spend good amount of time for plantation.
- EXERCISE: Maintaining your physic is one of best way to spend time during old age. An old age person can easily spend 2-4 hours in day like activities walking, lite exercises/work out, Pranayama, Praying, Focus exercises that keep your physic straight.
- INOVLVE YOURSELF IN TINNY ACTIVITIES: Even you are not comfortable for movements or not able to move, involve yourself and do very small tinny activities like stitching works, beautify your place, your room, play sitting games etc. Tinny activities like stitching works, beautify your place and tinny exercises like Pranayama, Focus exercises makes you comfortable in your movements.
- SOLVE PUZZLES: Engage yourself with kids/children in Puzzle solving activities. Along with engaging yourself, puzzle solving will sharpen your nervous system and will make you more active. Important to understand is that this activities does not require any movement and will even boost your body movements.
- TRAVEL: Travel is one of best way to spend old age time, you can travel to places; you have not visited so far. Even if you have budget issue, you can travel nearby places, you can take part of social activities where budget is not the issue.
- TRY TO LEARN NEW THINGS: Learn new things like Painting, Music or cooking. New things keep our brain engage and balanced. And increase our social network that makes our life interesting.
- BE VOLUNTEER: Find out Volunteer services in your network. You will find so many volunteer services in your circle. You may find volunteer service in your ex-place, you can teach someone. You can even try your favorite activities, which you missed earlier.
- WRITE A BOOK OR BLOG: Writing is best way to keep you engage during Old age. You can do writing even you are not physically fit. Writing improves our Brain and body functioning. You can write blog where you can share your own experiences.
- DO SIDE BUSINESS: Engage yourself in activities that helps to earn money. However, while venturing new thing that involve investment, keep in mind do not sink your savings or risk on your social security.
- SPEND TIME WITH FRIENDS: Like we feel comfortable while spending time with our family, spending time with friends also rejuvenates our body and brain. Once in a month plan get together with old friends, or you can also plan travel trip with your old group.
- BECOME A COACH: If you are from sport background or even during your childhood, you can opt for Coach profile. You can provide training to young children. Some of few skills for coaching is knowledge of key movements, fine motor skills, understanding basics of sports and to be patient. And if you are skilled, you can opt for higher profile.
- TRY HOME IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES: You may engage yourself in so many home activities, which you missed from quite long. You can do some of activities by your own having skills and for other activities you can hire team.
- READING: Reading is again one of best way to engage ourselves. Reading balances, our body and brain functioning. You can engage yourself in reading and learning new things. Prepare a list of books, which you missed to read earlier due to shortage of time. Weekly read them one by one.
- DANCING: If you love Dancing and you are physical fit, this is best things to enjoy your life. Dancing rejuvenates your body, mind and
- INCREASE YOUR SOCIAL CIRCLE: In case you are feeling alone, increase your social circle. Involve yourself in community centers, temple work and other places to increase your network and engage yourself.
- WORK PART TIME: If you are not comfortable for new ventures, you can do some part time working that keep you busy and give you company. You may easily find part time jobs in your network having so much experience.
- TEACH A CLASS: You have learned so many things in your 30-40 years of career. Do not keep your learning with you; use your learning to teach others. Local libraries and community center look for people to teach on variety of topics like writing resume, caring children etc.
